Eesti Energia sold 441 GWh of electricity in July to retail customers in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, which is 12 per cent more than last July. A total of 364 GWh of electricity was sold on power exchanges and to power distributors, which is 35.8 per cent more than in the same month last year.

A total of 29 GWh of power was sold there. Sales in Lithuania burgeoned, amounting to 29 GWh. Eesti Energia's sales in Lithuania totalled 0.1 GWh last year.
July sales were supported by the continuing growth of industrial output in Estonia and economic recovery.
Sales of electricity in Estonia have been influenced by the deregulation of the electricity market and the launch of the Nord Pool Spot Estlink bidding area as of 1 April 2010. Sales to Lithuania are impacted by the sales agreement signed for 2010, the launch of the BaltPool power exchange in connection with the opening of the electricity market at the beginning of the year and new retail customers on Lithuania's deregulated electricity market.
The average selling price of electricity on the Estonian closed market, not including network services, was 485 kroons per megawatt hour (kr/MWh). The average baseline electricity price in July in Nord Pool's Estlink bidding area was 749 kr/MWh; and in Nord Pool's Finnish bidding area, 764 kr/MWh.
Eesti Energia produced 8,000 tonnes (49 thousand barrels) of liquid fuels in July 2010, which is 5.8 per cent less than last July. The decrease in production volumes stemmed from the fact that equipment was in operation for a shorter amount of time. The liquid fuels sale price is impacted by the world crude oil price – in July the average price of Brent crude was 58.4 euros per barrel, which is 27.3 per cent more than last July.
Eesti Energia's sales of thermal energy amounted to 6 GWh in July, which is 26 per cent less than a year ago in the same month.
