Tiit Nigul, Member of the Management Board of Eesti Energia resigns

12.03.2008
Tiit Nigul, Member of the Management Board of Eesti Energia, submitted a statement to the Supervisory Board of Eesti Energia indicating his wish to resign from the position of Member of the Management Board. Nigul, who has supervised the sectors of trade, sales and service at Eesti Energia since 2005, justifies his resignation as coming at a logically suitable moment, in which many tasks have been fulfilled and a new multi-year period in the development of the company has been prepared. “I am leaving because the time is right. A logical and successful stage in the development of the company has been completed. On a personal level, I wish to find new challenges and commit myself more to my family, as well,” said Nigul. “Eesti Energia is expecting great changes and now is the right time to decide whether I am ready to give the maximum contribution to this in the coming years or whether it is more reasonable to pass the torch to a new person,” Nigul added. According to Sandor Liive, Chairman of the Management Board of Eesti Energia, Tiit has launched and implemented many significant innovations in the Group during his term in office. “At Tiit’s initiative, Eesti Energia has started trading on the Nordic energy exchange Nordpool, purchased a subsidiary in Finland and launched the direct sale of electricity in Latvia and Lithuania,” said Liive. He added that during Tiit’s term of office, several surplus value products such as the wireless Internet service KÕU, purchase of electricity from a shop and sending of electricity readings by text message have reached clients. According to EMOR, Eesti Energia has been one of the best service companies in Estonia in terms of its service in recent years. The Supervisory Board of Eesti Energia will discuss the release of Tiit Nigul from the position of Member of the Management Board at its meeting in March. Additional information:
